At CTS Turbo we are proud to announce our new intercooler charge pipes for the B9 Audi A4, A5, AllRoad 1.8T/2.0T.
The OEM charge piping uses a rubber hose as turbo outlet connection and plastic cold-side pipes with a flow-impeding “resonator”. Factory piping is not optimized for performance; so we had to step in and make our charge pipe set of 2.5″ aluminum mandrel-bent tube. Our parts replace soft turbo outlet hose and the small resonated plastic throttle body pipe.
All of the components included in the CTS charge pipe set work flawlessly together to provide increased efficiency, horsepower and torque throughout the entire power-band. By removing the restricting resonator on the cold-side piping, you can enjoy a slight increase in turbo sound!

The overall build quality of the charge pipes is amazing, and they also make much better throttle and turbo noises. However, I will say one thing: the clamps that they provide do not hold well at all. I am currently using a mix of old clamps from the OEM charge pipes and the new ones. Also, as a B9 Q5 owner, this will work on those cars. I don’t know why they don’t say it fits, but it does. These charge pipes work with the IE FDS intercooler as well, just an FYI.

2018 b9 a4. If you are tuned, do not use the included clamps. Get a bunch of T Bolt clamps with locking nuts. I have blown off pipes 2 times since install with IE FDS intercooler. I am stage 1 IE ECU and TCU tuned. The T bolt clamps are holding strong. Other than that amazing charge pipe set.

I am very impressed with this company. From the customer service to the warehouse operations. I decided to order this item from CTS directly after finding it on other sites and I’m very glad I did. Other sites were not able to offer shipping options that would have gotten it delivered within a week, but CTS was able to get it to me in days (besides a weather delay faced by the handler UPS), as well as at the exact listed price, no surprise fees that you get when ordering from a site like ECS or Eurotuning. Assembly was easy, but installing had me a little worried. The fitment of the intercooler side of the turbo outlet to intercooler inlet pipe fits somewhat loosely (gap is maybe a few millimeters max) and needs to really be tightened for it to seal properly, it’s not much of a gap but it’s enough to catch your eye when mocking up the installation so just be aware of fitment. Other than that I am very happy with the product’s performance and build quality. If you plan to install this I suggest going through the wheel well to access the clamps at the base of the intercooler, there isn’t a lot of online support for stuff like this to help direct installation and everything seems to say to remove the bumper instead which takes a lot of extra caution due to push clips and the specific wheel well material. (plastic or carpet depending on model)
